Our Hearing Professionals
Karen Glay, Au.D.
Dr. Karen Glay has been practicing audiology since 1982. Following a traineeship at the Jesse Brown Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, she worked for 2 prominent otolaryngologists in Chicago, gaining valuable experience providing diagnostic evaluations and establishing their hearing aid clinic. In 1989, Dr. Glay became the owner of Suburban Hearing Services and for over 25 years has remained committed to providing the best possible hearing care for her patients. Her passion is to improve your quality of life through better communication.
After some early moving around while her father was in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Glay grew up in northern Illinois. She and her husband love to travel and visit with family. It’s convenient that she has lots of family in Canada, Ireland, Northern Ireland, and closer to home, in Wisconsin!
Dr. Glay received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Marquette University and her Master of Arts in Audiology from Northern Illinois University. In 2006, she decided to hit the books again, obtaining her Doctor of Audiology in 2009 from the George S. Osborne College of Audiology at Salus University.
Education is an ongoing process for both Dr. Glay & Ms. Trombetta. They attend numerous seminars throughout the year and supplement that with online learning opportunities. To advance the education of future audiologists, both serve as preceptors and mentors for audiology students at Northwestern University, Rush University and Northern Illinois University.
